New 2017 Dodge Durango at Kolosso for Appleton, WI
The crossover 2017 Dodge Durango models all have excellent acceleration, hefty towing capacity, third-row seats, and low-range gearing on the 4-wheel drive versions. The R/T model empowers you to adventure outdoors with its new black roof rails. New for 2017 as well is the GT trim, which takes over for a competent trim from the previous year, and it can be recognized by its monochromatic exterior. The Citadel trim races back into the lineup with an available 2-tone leather upholstery with silver stitching (part of the Anodized Platinum package). Also, in models that have the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen (available), there is a rearview camera that is on while the vehicle is in motion, in order to see the trailer. The SXT trim clears the way in 2017 for seats to appear in the second row, if desired. That's a lot of significant changes, and all are in the keeping with the progressive momentum of this vehicle.
Under the Durango's Hood
Buyers can pick either a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 that makes 260 lb-ft of torque and 290 horsepower, or the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with Fuel Saver Technology, that outputs 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This vehicle can get your towing needs addressed: the 5.7-liter has a tow limit set at 7,400 pounds! The Durango comes standard in rear-wheel drive with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and an all-wheel drive setup becomes a choice as well. The 3.6-liter engine can tow up to 6,200 pounds and get up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway, 19 mpg city and 21 mpg combined. There is an option, on all models, for the 'Trailer-tow Group IV' which contains several key items, including a Class IV hitch receiver, a 220-amp alternator (if 5.7L V-8), a 4- and 7-pin wiring harness, a heavy-duty engine oil cooler (if 5.7L V-8), full-size spare tire and load-leveling shocks in the rear. The EPA says that with an all-wheel drive setup, the 2017 Durango can see 25 miles per gallon highway, 18 mpg city and 21 mpg combined.
Design of Dodge Durango
With all that going on under the hood, sometimes car manufacturers forget the other aspects of the vehicle-- but not here. Dodge knows you rely on using their Durango crossover for comfortable passenger transportation and for transferring heavy cargo, so they designed with that in mind. There are four model incarnations: the SXT, R/T, Citadel and the GT. The 2017 Dodge Durango comes with 3 rows by design, but remember that captain's chairs can be substituted in for the standard bench seat, in the second-row. The Durango encompasses around 85 cubic feet of cargo space and usually seats between five to seven passengers, depending a bit on seating selections. The GT model is here in 2017 with 20-inch wheels, and there is an available Blu-ray video entertainment system. That system comes to life with two 9-inch screens that helps occupants play DVDs in high-resolution and also plug-in video games. The Citadel trim adds bright xenon headlights and a chrome trim exterior. Packages abound with the 2017 Durango, and owners would do well to select either the Brass Monkey or Blacktop appearance packages for the R/T and GT models! The Brass monkey package includes a Gloss Black split crosshair grille and aluminum 20-inch burnished bronze color wheels. There are 18-inch alloy wheels on the SXT trim, and then other features like heated mirrors, a 6-speaker sound system, keyless ignition and entry, three-zone climate control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a rear suspension that self-levels, a 5-inch touchscreen and several other fun features to find out about!
