New 2017 Jeep Compass at Kolosso for Appleton, WI

The competent and capable 2017 Jeep Compass is going to arrive in your world with a powerful force! It's a 5-passenger SUV hatchback that is perfect for driving on general errands, has an amazingly compelling price window, and has a solid-performing fuel-economy (the front-wheel-drive especially). Flip-down speakers within the tailgate (available) and an available off-road mode on the 4WD (part of the Freedom Drive II system) make the Compass an excellent find in the generalized tide of compact SUVs in 2017. Did we mention the flip-down speakers? We did, but they are so cool that you that will be showing them to all your friends and relatives should you make the decision to get a 2017 Jeep Compass, and that's a good thing!

Under the Compass's Hood

The 2017 Jeep Compass can tow up to 2,000-lbs, and that can come in handy when bringing the trailer to the friend's house to load up the jet-skis, for instance! Standard features on all trims are a tilting steering wheel to help with tall (and less-than-tall) people, the cruise control function called 'Speed Control', and suspension that is independent and touring-tuned. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that uses 172 horsepower to pull off 165 lb-ft of torque is standard issue on all-wheel drive trims. The 2017 Compass enters standard with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that uses 158 horsepower and gets 141 pound-feet of torque, and is put with a front-wheel drive setup only. The 2.0-liter seen within the Latitude trim is able to be found working through a continuously variable transmission. Usually a 5-speed manual transmission (standard) works with that same engine as standard on the Sport trim (available with a Powertech 6-speed automatic). Optional on the Sport is the off-roading designed Freedom Drive II, which adds a CVT that has a crawl mode intended for meeting the challenge of steep inclines. This is similar to driving with the low-range gearing traditionally found in 4x4 vehicles overall, plus it has a skid-plate shield for the fuel tank and an engine oil cooler. In Edmunds testing, a 2017 Compass with the AWD 2.4-liter engine and the six-speed transmission got from 0 to sixty miles per hour (mph) in 9.4 seconds.

Design of Jeep Compass

This is a super-fun SUV that has two trims that it is mainly seen in: the Latitude and the Sport. Standard on the Sport are foglights, air-conditioning, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, cruise control, a tilt-only steering wheel, a USB port, an aux jack, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a four-speaker audio system with a CD player, satellite radio, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Then there are some variations within the Compass models to give you more choices. The Latitude variation model choice is named the 'High Altitude Edition'. The Sport model has 2 choices, in the Sport SE or the 75th Anniversary Edition. The Sport SE trim has heated front seats, a matching gloss-gray body trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with audio controls), and many other items. The Latitude absorbs the Sport's standard feature set, then adds 17-inch wheels and the Power Value Group. The High Altitude Edition package installs a sunroof, makes the upholstery leather, and much more! 18-inch, bronze-painted alloy wheels appear on the 75th Anniversary Edition, as well as remote engine start, and a sunroof. All Compass models can get the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group. Four-wheel-drive Compass trims can be outfitted with the All-Weather Capability Group which adds daytime running lamps and tow hooks, among other items.
