Powering the 2014 Dodge Journey
Intended for commuting and gasoline mileage, the standard 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine in the 2014 Dodge Journey provides adequate power when lightly loaded, but no more than that. Ride quality is generally good, with little pounding over bumps. The 3.6-liter V6 produces 283 horsepower at 6350 rpm, 260 pound-feet of torque at 4400 rpm. The V6 is plenty modern, equipped with double overhead camshafts (that's four cams) and four valves per cylinder. The V6 is rated at 17/25 mpg with front-wheel drive, and with AWD it's rated 16/24 mpg.
'14 Journey Design
On the outside, the Journey announces its presence with the familiar Dodge crosshair grille. For a more stylish look is, opt for the R/T version, with its 19-inch wheels, monochromatic treatment and distinctive R/T labels. Select the available audio system with the 8.4-inch touch screen and Uconnect communication and connectivity choices, and you'll be operating one of the industry leaders in intuitive functions. The 3rd-row seat folds flush, the 2nd-row seats can slide fore-and-aft, and the higher trim levels feature a flat-folding front passenger seat that allows stowing extra-long cargo items all the way up to the instrument panel. Conclusions
Dodge Journey offers lots of choices: four or six cylinders, five or seven seats, basic trim or full-lux leather. The Dodge Journey is a midsize sport-utility that offers the smoother ride and better fuel economy of a car with the cargo space and roominess of an SUV.Â
