The 2015 RAM Heavy Duty models boast some of the highest tow ratings among pickups. Maximum towing for the 2015 Ram 2500 is nearly 18,000 pounds, with a payload that approaches 4000 pounds. Chrysler's 383-hp Hemi 5.7-liter V8 with 6-speed automatic is the standard setup. The 2500's Traction Control feature uses sensors which monitor to identify if any tire suffers a loss of traction, and adjusts the vehicle's power and handling accordingly to assist the driver with keeping control. Should there be a decrease in handling, even just a little bit, an Electronic Stability feature will activate and work with the brakes to mitigate over or understeering, and help get you back on track safely. The 2015 RAM 2500 HD rides well and cruises quietly by heavy-duty pickup standards but you can't compare the ride to a car.

The 2015 Ram 2500 comes in Tradesman, SLT, Outdoorsman, Power Wagon, Laramie, and Laramie Longhorn trim levels. While the style and lights are from the 1500, only the latter are the same parts. The HD's grille is larger than that of the 1500 models to allow more cooling air in, the bumper is reshaped, and the hood has a larger central bulge and faux louver contouring, but the easiest way to distinguish a non-dually HD from the 1500 is the gap above the bumper: The 1500 has no such gap. Standard safety equipment for the 2015 Ram 2500 includes antilock disc brakes, front seat and side curtain airbags, stability and traction control and a tire pressure monitoring system. Power-adjustable pedals are available on all models except the Tradesman. A rearview camera is available across the lineup.
